A fun reminiscence resource based on vintage advertising

Ad-Memoire is a digital reminiscence resource, designed for organisations and individuals who care for older people.

About History of Advertising Trust and Ad-Memoire

History of Advertising Trust (HAT) is an educational charity, established in 1976, to preserve the heritage of the UK ad industry and make it accessible to all for study and research. Consequently HAT is the largest archive of British advertising in the world, holding over 10 million items in its collections (1800-present)

HAT's Ad-Memoire resource provides hospitals, care organisations and individuals with access to themed reels of some of the UK's best loved vintage TV commercials and print ads (1950s-1970s). The ads and the social history they contain provide excellent memory prompts for older people, including those living with dementia. The resource is a great tool for reminiscence and activity sessions, or even just as a form of entertainment.

Ad-Memoire can be used on a small screen (phone/tablet/laptop) or in group sessions, via HDMI cable, Apple TV or screen sharing.

The resource offers two levels of access:

Ad-Memoire 'All Access' is specifically designed for reminiscence in hospitals and care organisations, to be used by nursing staff, volunteers and activity coordinators in group sessions.

Ad-Memoire 'One-to-One' is a streamlined version of the full resource, ideal for individuals. It provides access to the ever growing range of themed commercials reels, which are great prompts for happy memories to share.

Register now for free access to one 'taster' reel in the Breakfast theme.
